First of all..celebrate the fact that you have a refrigerator to keep your food cold!

About 15% of American homes have two refrigerators in them.

In America there are more and more fancy and new fangled refrigerators to choose from every year.  There is always going to be the latest gadget accessory or voice activated assistant to supposedly keep your food cold more efficiently.  Today there refrigerators that can even order a fresh gallon of milk from the grocery store through a wifi connection.  It wasn't always this easy or technical to chill food.  In the 1930s, homes used large blocks of ice to keep food cold in what used to be called an icebox.  People used to keep their  food in an insulated box with ice that was made with wood and lined with tin.  Before these early refrigerators were created, people used age old methods such as keep the perishable food in a wood shed and using salting, spicing, smoking, pickling and drying preservation methods.  Cleaning your fridge is not the most entertaining way to spend your time, but trust me after your finished, you will find a much more pleasant experience every time your go for an extra beverage.  One of the best cleaning solutions consist of two tablespoons baking soda and a quart of hot water.
