Description

Ah.. man's best friend, today is National Dog Day.  Not to be confused with "dog days" which is a reference to hot, sticky summer days. Today we pay tribute to our beloved dogs.  As domesticated animals, dogs have helped man with all types of work,  from pulling sleds in Alaska to help rounding up cattle in Wyoming as well as woking security.  Dogs are very loyal and will listen and give affection with no conditions.  It has been said that you can understand much about the owner of a dog by the breed of dog they own.  Some dogs are very friendly and make great family pets, as they are good with children.  Other dogs that have been bred over the years as working dogs tend to need more attention given to them when their younger to develop into a softer and friendly relationship the owner.  There have been many movies about dogs that illustrate our affection for dogs, such as the popular children's animation film 101 Dalmatians and the movie about Jack London's book "Call of the Wild"
