Traditional Celebration Ideas

Melt some chocolate and cover some raisins to make this treat in the comfort of your own home.  Try watching some vintage commercials with Raisin Bran cereal or vintage California raisin commercials.  Find a new recipe for a cake or sweet treat that requires you use chocolate covered raisins.  When preparing a salad, sprinkle some raisins in as a topping.

1 small box of raisins contains about 90 individual raisins each.

Years ago there was a catchy television commercial that promoted the state of California raisin industry.  These commercials became very popular and help keep demand for raisins strong.  What exactly are raisins you may ask? Raisins are a type of grape that has been dried for about three weeks as the grapes get darker after they dry, giving them the dark brown color. They are a delicious, although rich in sugar sweet snack.  In particular, one brand stands out among the rest in form of popularity, the "Raisinets" are sun-ripened, California raisins covered in chocolate. Not only do they taste very sweet and delicious, they are actually a great natural source of fruit antioxidants. The Raisinets brand of chocolate covered raisins have been the best selling version in the United states for over 90 years.
