Today is the day to visit your local park. In addition to appreciating and visually taking in the many beautiful city parks the U.S. has to offer..a celebrated walk in the park offers a great opportunity to get some exercise. In the Eastern Seaboard, the most famous of course would be Central Park in New York City, as well as all the great parks (see Rittenhouse Square) that are named squares in the nearby city of Philadelphia.
Philadelphia Parks and Recreation is responsible for managing over 300 parks, 166 trails and 40 historic sites in the city's park system.
When people think of parks, they probably think of the local neighborhood park or some of the nations large city parks. Let us not forget about all of the beautiful National Parks managed by the National Park Service. If you enjoy parks, then one of the best ideas is to purchase the annual park pass for you and your family. The U.S. Park Pass will give you access to over 2000 parks across the United States and is good for the entire year. The Grand Canyon National Park is one of the most visited park destinations in the U.S. each year. Another type of park that people visit each year is the "Theme Park" and probably the most recognized in this category is the Disneyland theme park. These type of parks are packed with amusement rides and have some type of common theme of decoration and ideas throughout the park such as Disney's colorful cartoon characters or Universal Studios rides and attractions that are based on the company's famous cinematic films. So whether it's a stroll down Central Park or a hike on a trail in one of America's great National Parks you can find a number of ways to get out and enjoy the outdoors by visiting a park.
